On the Road

High school students visit So Cal colleges with a Disney Seminar too!

A large group of high schoolers and their chaperones covered several colleges in their tour of Southern California universities. At each campus, students engaged with specialists in a variety of fields. Their trip included a meeting on UCSD’s research pier with an oceanographer to learn about current research projects of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, a private tour of the USC Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism, learning about wellness programs and career services with Directors at UC Irvine, and visiting the School of Television, Film, and Radio at UCLA. A highlight of their trip, and a break from college tours, was an afternoon at Disneyland where they had a private seminar at the Disney Imagination Campus focused on Science and Technology taught by a Disney Imagineer.

MUSIC and MAGIC in Rochester, NY

We spent several days in Rochester, NY in October, visiting several colleges in the Rochester area. We were really excited to learn about the MAGIC Spell Studios at the Rochester Institute of Technology - a fully functional film sound stage and production studies. We had the opportunity to hear the fabulous musicians at the Eastman School of Music, part of the University of Rochester., rehearse in one of their historic concert halls. We also stopped at St. John Fisher College and Nazareth College, two small liberal arts campuses in the area. The leaves were turning and our hotel in quaint Pittsford, NY, along the Erie Canal, were the perfect combination for our college tour! Photos by Elizabeth Stone and Matt Donato

Southern Charm at College of Charleston

Southern Charm at College of Charleston

Ninety-five percent humidity didn't keep us from enjoying the beautiful cities of Charleston and Beaufort, SC.  Amid gracious oak trees and cobblestone streets, were two historic universities:  College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

We especially enjoyed the fabulous Belmond Charleston Place located right off King Street.  Great dining at local restaurants included Husk and Hominy Grill.

Sunny Southern California!

Campanile College Tours spent a week in Southern California, checking out campuses and great properties for our families.

Our first stop was at the Intercontinental Century City Hotel located in the Beverly Hills area - true "LA" vibe for families interested in Los Angeles campuses.  Heading down the coast, we toured the fabulous Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes - a perfect layover before heading further south.  We drove by stunning coastline in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach before arriving in LaJolla, the home of the University of California, San Diego where we had a private guided tour with an Ocean Phyisist.
